The Liverpool Chronicles began almost seven years ago now in 2007 when our Head Ref Graham Parkinson decided to relaunch a local LARP game of White Wolf's hugely popular Vampire: The Masquerade. Since then the game has gone from strength to strength with an ever growing player base and a set of complex and interweaving story lines that offer each and every player the chance to explore their character's own personal World of Darkness to the full.
For those who are new to the setting, or to LARP in general, then our game may be briefly summarised as below:
"Within the Liverpool Chronicles, Players take on the role of Vampires who live by night in the World of Darkness; hidden from the eyes of the mortal populace by the great tradition of secrecy known as the Masquerade. Vampires, also known as Kindred, are intensely political and competitive predators that group themselves into distinct Clans and congregate in the cities to find prey and shelter from the Werewolves that inhabit the countryside. Vampires across the globe belong to one of several factions, the largest being the Camarilla, an organisation that seeks to keep vampires hidden and therefore safe. Each characters is free to pursue their own goals within the laws of the Camarilla, and many vampires spend a great deal of time finding ways around these laws. All vampires are predators upon mankind, requiring regular human blood to survive and fighting a constant battle against their internal bestial nature."
Unlike some other LARP games we do not make high demands of costume or experience from our players, you can turn up to play in casual dress and pick up the rules as you go along - so there is no need to feel that you are too inexperienced to play or that your costume isn't good enough. Sessions of the game are held roughly every 2 months and last for several hours. In addition there are two extended "weekender" events each year when play is spread over several days. We are fortunate to have the use of a quiet venue away from the public eye and to enjoy privacy whilst playing. The cost of attending a session is not usually more than £5/head and your first session is free, which we believe makes our game excellent value for money and emans that you won't have to empty your pockets before starting to play.
